DAY 1: ARRIVAL MANALI (2,050 m/6,725 ft). TRANSFER TO SOLANG (2,560 m/8,398 ft - 13 kms)

Arrive in Manali. Then drive to Solang. Overnight in a hotel.

DAY 2: SOLANG TO LAMADUGH (3,017 m/9,898 ft - 5 to 6 hrs)

The first day of the trek goes through cool forests of giant deodar, alder and oak. The trail climbs gently at first through the Manalsu valley along the Manalsu torrent. Extensive views of the Kullu Valley appear and slowly fade into the distance. As the degree of the gradient decreases, the gentle slope of the first campsite in the lush green meadows of Lamadugh is visible. From here beautiful views of the surrounding peaks open up. Overnight in camp.

DAY 3: LAMADUGH TO RIALI THATCH (3,414 m/11,200 ft)

The trail now ascends steeply through woodland and meadow, with wild alpine flowers all around. On the way brilliant shrubs of rhododendron and birch pave the way to the ridge, looking out across spectacular peaks, after which a descent leads to the campsite at Dohra Nallah. Overnight in camp.
4

DAY 4: RIALI THATCH TO BASE OF KALIHANI PASS (4,725m /15,550 ft - 5-6 hours)

A lovely walk through lush forests to the campsite at the base of the Kalihani Pass. You pass through many settlements of local shepherds or the Gaddis. For the first couple of hours, the terrain is up and down and you cross many small streams before you hit a big stream coming from the Kalihani pass. From there the climb is steep. The campsite itself is at an elevation of 13,200 feet (4,023 m). The mountain peaks of the Kullu and Lahaul valleys are visible throughout. Overnight in camp.

DAY 5: TREK TO THE KALIHANI PASS AND BACK (4,725m /15,550 ft - 8 hours)

The landscape slowly begins to change as forests and meadows give way to rocky outcrops with patches of snow starting to appear. A rather steep climb through glacial debris and snow leads to the top of the pass, from where breathtaking views are available. After a brief halt, trek back to the base camp. Overnight camp at Kalihani Base.

DAY 6: BASE OF KALIHANI PASS TO RIALI THATCH (3,414 m/11,200 ft - 6 hrs)

After the long, previous day in snowy trails, we start from the base of the Pass and head down following the stream. After a short diversion to the right we continue on rolling terrain for the next 3 hours to reach out next campsite. Overnight in camp.
7

DAY 7: RIALI THATCH TO SHAGCHAR VILLAGE (2-3 hrs)

Today we descend quickly to Shagchar village, walking on the ridge with excellent view of the mountains around. Drive back to Solang (2 hrs).
