Bhrigu lake is a well-known lake of the Kullu region. Legend holds that Bhrigh Rishi meditated here, and that many local gods of the Kullu Valley visit to take a dip in its sacred water.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM THIS ADVENTURE TRIP
Bhrigu Lake is close to habitation, yet in a secluded lush green gorge. The Bhrigu Lake is at an altitude of 4235 metres lying east of the Rohtang Pass. Steep ups and downs can make you a bit tired but they are equally rewarding because of its tremendous views.
Day 1: Arrival Manali bus stand and drive to Gulaba (22 kms; 1 hr) and camp
Trek takes us steadily underneath forest cover, passing through open grasslands every now and then. Make note of silver oak, cedar and birch trees on the trail here. These are few of the most prominent trees in the Himalayas. There are also a few rivulets that flow by.
The trail enters an open meadow where shepherds camp. We pitch our tents and camp here for the evening. The Gulaba camp gives a good break for acclimatization before hitting Rola Kholi at 3,830 meters.
Day 2: Gulaba to Rola Kholi (3830 m; 4 hrs)
Ahead, there’s a milky white rivulet flowing down the imposing Kolang Valley. This is Kolang Nallah. Walk straight towards it until you are walking along the banks of the stream.
As you climb up the ridge, pause to enjoy brilliant views of Manali and Solang Valley. Rola Kholi is a scenic grazing ground used by local shepherds. Located at the base of Bhrigu Lake, it makes for an ideal camping spot.
Day 3: Rola Kholi to Bhrigu Lake (4270 m) and then to Pandu Ropa (3,600 m) (7 to 8 hrs)
Bhrigu Lake rests between two high-altitude ridges.
On a clear day, you can catch a stunning panoramic view of Pir Pinjal and Dhauladhar ranges. Also, major peaks, Indrasen, Deo Tibba and Hanuman Tibba stand majestically before you. The lake is normally is enveloped in fog. So finding the route could be tricky.
After spending time at the lake, head down to Vashisht Valley on the other side. As you proceed, look for the mountain ridge of Vashisht Theli ahead.
The initial downhill section is steep and slippery. Descend slowly. The meadow walk is refreshing all the way to rice fields of Pandu Ropa. This is an old Kullu village with several native stories about Sage Bhrigu and the Pandavas. Camp overnight here.
Day 4: Pandu Ropa to Vashisht (2,070 m/4 hrs). Drive to Manali.
Once you exit the forest ridge, treat yourself to a grand view of Kullu Valley. The trek ends at Vashisht. Drive from Vashisht to Manali. From Manali, one can take evening Volvo buses to Delhi.
End of arrangements…
