This trek is considered to be the most beautiful treks in the Garhwal Himalayas. It is ideal for beginners, families and students. We can see all the major peaks of Uttarakhand from the Chandrasilla summit. We also visit Tungnath, one of the five Kedar temples and the highest Shiva temple in the world.

DAY 01: RISHIKESH TO SARI VILLAGE VIA RUDRAPRAYAG (7 HRS DRIVE) - TREK TO DEVRIATAL (1,800 M / 5,904 FT; 2 KMS; 1 HR TREK)
Early morning, we drive from Rishikesh to Sari village, the starting point on our trek. Devriatal is a picture-perfect place for trekkers and nature lovers with its variety of birds and the great views of the Himalayas including Chaukhamba, Kedar, Neelkanth and Kirtistambh. Overnight camping at Devriatal.

DAY 02: DEVRIATAL TO CHOPTA - (3,000 M / 9840 FT; 12 KMS; 5-6 HRS)
After breakfast we start our trail from Devriatal to Chopta. A gentle climb brings us to the meadows of Chopta and Madhmaheswar. Today’s walk passes through dense semi-alpine forest of rhododendron and oak. There is also a possibility of seeing some wildlife like the barking deer, sambar and lots of Himalayan birds. After a few ups and downs, and a final climb will take us to Chopta, the best camping spot with fabulous views of Himalayas and a view of the beautiful sunset. Overnight camping/guest house at Chopta.

DAY 03: CHOPTA TO CHANDRASHILA AND BACK - (4,130 M / 13,564 FT; 8 KMS/ 4-5 HRS)
After breakfast we do a day trip from Chopta – a trek to Chandrashila top via Tungnath temple which is one of the “Panch Kedar”. The pathway is gentle with few zigzag paths till we reach Tungnath. A steep (1km) climb takes us to Chandrasilla peak (4,130 m), which best known for its breathtaking views of the Himalayas which include Nanda Devi, Trisul, Dunagiri, Hathi peak, Neelkanth, Choukhamba. We descend to our base camp. Overnight camping.

DAY 04: CHOPTA-POTHIBASA-RISHIKESH
After breakfast we trek 6 km downhill to Pothibasa. Board our vehicles and drive 6-7 hours to Rishikesh. We can depart the same evening for our onward journey.
