The park can be visited throughout the year. However, different seasons are suitable for different purposes of the visit. For bird watching, the best season is from October to March. Though early mornings are very cold, the days are pleasantly warm and bright during these months. For the sight of animals, the best months are from April to June. The days are hot and nights are cold in this season. The best season for viewing colorful flora is from July to September. As it is the monsoon season, the days are humid with a pleasant weather at nights.
Flora in Jim Corbett Park
The park has a wide collection of plants of about 600 species. They include trees, climbers, shrubs, ferns and grasses. The main trees found here are Sal, Sissoo, Khair and Date Palms. Many flowering plants like Indian Coral and Sesal. Some species like Teak, Eucalyptus, Silver Oak and Bottlebrush are planted in the park, like a feather in its cap enhancing the beauty of the atmosphere. Many species of bamboos, grasses and shrubs are scattered throughout the region, making the place colorful.
Fauna in Jim Corbett Park
Jim Corbett is one of the most popular tiger reserves in India which houses a good number of the endangered species Bengal tigers. Apart from tigers, it preserves many rare species of animals including the Asian elephants, leopards, spotted deers, Mountain goats, Jackals, Wild boars, Sloth bears, Porcupines, Civets, Langur Monkeys, Sambar, Barking deers, Hog deers and wild cats. The park is home to around 600 species of birds.The Ramganga river is inhabited by fish eating crocodiles, Otters, Turtles and many fish species.
