If one has a fetish for Pan-Asian food then cooking some on your own will not be a difficult chore at all, In fact it is very interesting to cook Asian food as it involves one of the most healthiest forms of cooking since it avoids the excesses that we find in other culinary forms & that which is not good for health.

Many ingredients common to Asian cooking includes chilies, rice, ginger, garlic, sesame seeds, corn flour, green leafy vegetables & some exotic roots too. Also stir frying, steaming and deep-frying are the most common cooking methods which is used to make tasty dishes.

Here are the food types one is most likely to encounter when looking out to have a hearty Asian Meal.

Vietnamese Spicy Lemongrass Noodle Soup:-

Arguably one of Asia’s most popular foods starts with soups and they come in many varieties. But, the thing about the humble soups is that it can be imperceptible. Sometimes one does not even know if they exist. & one such soup is the bun bo hue, a spicy Vietnamese noodle soup that is unconditionally tempting.

Its got a mixed flavor that appeals to every taste bud as it is spicy, sour, salty, and sweet. The soup’s main flavor comes from the mild aroma of lemongrass. The rice noodles, are tubular and slimy & firm . Moreover, the garnishes elicit the freshness one expects while savoring a bowl full of Vietnamese food.

Japanese Yakiniku:-

In Japan , Teriyaki Sauce is very popular & is an essential flavoring agent . Teriyaki sauce comes in many flavors like fish teriyaki, steak & Green Teriyaki etc.

Contrary to popular view the Japanese eat equal amount of veggies as much as they consume non-veg A Grilled vegetarian dish with soy called yakiniku is a very famous Japanese delicacy Making yakiniku at home is a lot simpler as it involves marinating little pieces of meat OR vegetables with some miso paste and then placing it over the grill, Once grilled it can be served with Teriyaki Sause which sure gives it hat that quintessential Japanese taste.

Malaysian  – Indonesian Combo:-

Malaysian food has a strong Indonesian culinary influence which can be seen in many dishes found on Malaysian menu . Deep-fried tempeh, preserved anchovies, long eggplants fried to retain it’s flavor and soaked with hot red chili paste are some of the dish types which is popular in Malaysia. One dish which is very famous is the mouth watering sambal made with Charcoal grilled green chilies and pieces of fish meat.

Also there are dishes like Pineapple curry, papaya leaves stewed in coconut milk, chicken stewed in kecap manis which makes up the Malaysian menu that owes it’s origin to Indonesian cuisine.

Thai Green Curry:-

The one cuisine that comes close to Indian cooking is Thai cuisine , no wonder Thai, food has become a craze with Indians in a short period of time. One would surely love the different types of Thai curry, named after the color .So one can savor red, yellow, and green variety of thai curry .Also there are a few more special kinds of curries like the ‘Panang curry’, ‘Jungle curry’, & ‘Massamam curry’, etc.

One of my all-time favorites is the Thai green curry and it is mostly served with steaming white rice. Thai green curry is made of cilantro root or cilantro stems and fresh green chilies, which gives it a somewhat greenish color & that’s how it got the name “green curry”.

Korean – Kimchi Dumplings:-

Legends has it that Koreans have mastered the art of pickling and fermenting vegetables in pot utensils since many centuries. Thus the legacy of Spiced & preserved vegetables popularly called Kimchi in Korea got carried forward from different regions of Korea .
So how can the kimchi not be an integral part of Korean food?

No wonder Kimchi Dumplings are one of the dishes best served with kimchi. As the dumplings are stuffed with a “filling mixture” made of tofu and vermicelli noodles & so they taste even better when served with a variety of spicy kimchi combinations.
