Georgia Wine and Walks 2026

After breakfast start excursion in the capital city of Georgia. Visit the following sights: Tbilisi Sameba Cathedral, the largest cathedral in the Caucasus; Metekhi Church, which is erected on the cliff, overlooking the Mtkvari River; Famous Sulfur Baths district, located in “Old Tbilisi”, called “Abanotubani” where several hot springs of sulfur water is concentrated. Lift by cable car on Narikala fortress. Narikala is an ancient symbol of city defence. The fortress was established in the 4th century, around the period when the city itself was founded. Visit Waterfall near botanical garden. Then continue tour by visiting Shardeni street with its fashionable, cozy cafes and art galleries. Visit famous glass Bridge of Peace. Then visit Leselidze Street, where we come across Armenian church and Jewish synagogue.

Overnight in Tbilisi

(170 km; 3.5 – 4 hrs driving)
(Trekking: 2–2.5 hrs moderate; • 470 total meters ascent • 470 total meters descent) After breakfast drive to Mtskheta – the ancient religious center of the kingdom of Iberia. Visit the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral where it is said that the robe of Jesus was buried. Continue drive to Kazbegi. Kazbegi is sunk in the mountains, surrounded with high peaks and you can witness glacier Mkinvartsveri (5047 m). Trekking to Gergeti Trinity Church, located 2170 m above sea level. Gergeti is the cultural monument and one of the venerated churches in Georgia dating to the XIV century, mostly poised in the clouds from where breath-taking view over Kazbegi and famous Darial gorge is opening.
Overnight in Kazbegi

(365 km; approx. 5.5–6 hrs driving)
After breakfast visit the Ananuri castle.
Visit a local winery (Chateau Mukhrani or similar). Getting know with Georgian traditional wine making tradition and have wine degustation with snack.
Visit the Uplistsikhe cave town and finally head to Kutaisi – the second largest city of Georgia.
Overnight in Kutaisi

(270 km; approx. 5.5 hrs driving)
After breakfast drive to Tskaltubo and visit the Prometheus cave.
Continue trip to upper Svaneti region which is a home of the Svan people, whose traditions and culture have survived for thousands of years.
Overnight in Mestia

(20 km; approx. 1 hr driving)
Trekking: difficult • ca. 12 km & 6 hrs walking • 536 total meters ascent • 536 total meters descent
Enjoy breakfast before a challenging hike to the Koruldi glacial lakes. Drive by Delicas from Mestia (1400 m) to Mestia Cross (2204 meters above sea level), where you will be rewarded with a beautiful view. On your way you will have fantastic views of glacier chains, double-headed Ushba and Mestia.
At Mestia Cross start your trekking over mountain meadows and you will overcome 500 meters in altitude over another 4 kilometers and finally reach the small Koruldi glacial lakes (2,740 meters). There you can rest in idyllic surroundings and hopefully enjoy nice weather with an unforgettable view of the surrounding 4 and 5 thousand mountains.
Return back to Mestia by Delicas.
In the afternoon you’ll have time to visit the Hatsvali Ski resort (not included in the price).
Overnight in Mestia

(220 km; approx. 5 hrs driving)
Trekking: ca. 5 km; 2 hrs • 200 total meters ascent • 230 total meters descent
After breakfast drive to Ushguli – the UNESCO site at the rising of the highest glacier in Georgia Shkhara (5201 m above sea level). It is the highest inhabited area in Europe at the altitude of 2200 m above sea level where you can see IX–X century towers, X century La Maria church and Queen Tamar’s tower and walking through the village explore the real authentic life of local people.
Continue drive to the Mt. Schkhara, where river Enguri starts.
Finally drive to Kutaisi.
Visit the Motsameta church.
Overnight in Kutaisi

After breakfast drive to Tbilisi and have free afternoon.
In the evening have farewell dinner at the local restaurant Tsiskvili with Folklore Program.
