A bike ride to Ladakh criss-crosses through some of the most amazing and challenging routes that exists on earth! You are literally riding on the top of the world through spectacular landscapes and high altitude passes. We will visit monasteries and experie Buddhist culture and camp near beautiful, high- altitude crystal clear lakes. Also riding on roads that are at altitudes ranging from 11,000 ft to 18,000 feet provides a panoramic view of the Himalayan region with its own unique ecosystem.

DAY 1: ARRIVAL NEW DELHI – LEH (3500 m / 11484 ft)

Early morning we board the flight for Leh. Upon arrival meet our local associate. Transfer to a hotel. We rest for whole the day to acclimatize. Allocation of your bikes, briefing and know-how about the bike. Overnight in Leh.

DAY 2: FULL DAY LOCAL BIKE TOUR (100 kms)

After having breakfast, ride for visiting Leh Palace, Sanker Gompa and Shanti Stupa which is a Buddhist white-domed stupa on a hilltop in Changspa. Enjoy the panoramic view of the city. From here we can choose to ride the bikes down to Leh to have lunch in the market. After lunch we visit the Hall of Fame, Magnetic hills and Sangam the confluence of Indus and Zanskar river at Nimoo. Evening by 5-6 pm back to the hotel at Leh.

DAY 3: LEH-KHARDUNGLA PASS (5,602 m / 18 380 ft)-NUBRA VALLEY (3,048m/10,000 ft, 200 km; 5 hrs drive)

Back on the road, we ride from Leh and head towards the Khardungla Pass, the world’s highest motorable pass. After a photography session and acclimatization break on the pass we cross it and head towards Nubra Valley. Nubra is a tri-armed valley located to the north east of Ladakh valley. The Shyok River, a tributary of the Indus, meets the Nubra or Siachan River to form a large valley that separates the Ladakh and Karakoram Ranges. We have lunch enroute at Khardung. The villages of Nubra are scattered along these two valley floors. Because of the lower altitude a wide variety of fruits, vegetables and grains are grown, creating an impression of abundance. Check into a tented campsite. Evening we head to a panoramic kake, and there is an option of visiting a Ladakhi kitchen. Overnight in a neat and clean deluxe camp at Hunder.

DAY 4: DAY EXCURSION FROM HUNDER TO TURTUK AND BACK (3 hrs drive one way, 120 kms)

Today after breakfast we proceed for Turtuk and come back to Hunder in the evening. Turtuk is the last village of India with a unique inhabitant group of Balti people. Overnight Hunder.

DAY 5: NUBRA – LEH (200 kms, 5 hrs)

Early morning there is the option of walking up to Tiger Monastery to attend the early morning prayers  around 6.00 am. We return to our campsite for breakfast and then the group sets of to visit the white sand dunes and if lucky for a ride on the double-humped Bactrian camels. We have lunch at Hunder and then head to Diskit Monastery. Right on the top behind Diskit Monastery stands a 106 foot tall Buddha statue, the tallest in the Ladakh region. We drive back to leh. Overnight in a hotel in Leh.

DAY 6: LEH – PANGONG - (4080 m / 13386 ft; 150 kms; 4 to 5 hrs one way)

Start the  trip to the world’s highest lake – Pangong. A salt-water lake, its vastness 150 kms long and 4 kms wide spans two countries, India & China (2/3rd of the lake lies in China). The sun paints its various hues on the canvas of the surrounding mountains as we watch spellbound while walking on the shores of the lake. We will visit Thiksey Monastery in the morning before we reach the lake where there is the largest Buddhist statue of 15-metre tall Champa, the Buddha of Future; Thiksey is one of the most frequently visited and most photogenic monasteries in Ladakh. About a hundred monks live here. We stay overnight in a tented campsite near Pangong Lake.

DAY 7: PANGONG – SAKTI (110 kms, 3 hrs)

We spend the morning at Pangong lake to enjoy the sunrise and then start riding back to Sakti via Changla Pass. While heading back to Sakti we can visit Hemis Monastery. Hemis Monastery stands on the western bank of the Indus River. The monastery also boasts of a very rich collection of ancient relics. The Hemis Monastery also serves as the venue of an annual festival, known as the Hemis Festival. Overnight at Sakti.

DAY 8: SAKTI TO TSO MORIRI (4,595 mtrs/15,075ft, 5-6 hrs 190 kms)

Post breakfast, start your ride to reach Chumathang village. After riding the bikes for 02.00 hrs – 02.30 hrs make an entry at the Mahey bridge, the checkpoint for this area ride towards the Tso Moriri. On the way visit the village of Sumda and a 55 kms ride gets us to Tso Moriri, a breeding ground for numerous species of birds especially the bar-headed goose, crested grebe, the brahmini duck and the brown- headed gull. The lake is 8 kms wide and 28 kms long. We visit Korzok village with its houses and gompa appearing like a mirage. Overnight stay at a deluxe camp.

DAY 9: TSOMORIRI TO SARCHU (4,290 m/14,074 ft, 195 kms 6-7 hrs)

Proceed to Sarchu via Tsoker Lake which is known for the salt lake (now practically dried up) and also famous for the birds, specially the black neck cranes. The road from Puga to highway is quite bumpy so it might take longer time than usual before we reach Serchu.  We cross through Pang, Lachung La and Nakila at an altitude of 5,065 m and one can see mountain goats and ibex in herds along the road side. Overnight at Sarchu in a tented campsite.

DAY 10: SARCHU TO JISPA (3,200 m/10,498 ft, 180 kms, 5-6 hrs)

Post breakfast ride towards the valley of Himachal to Jispa, on the way we cross Baralacha la (4,892 mtrs), Zingzing Bar Patso, Darcha  and one can see one of the most excellent panoramic views of the high, sky-touching mountains. Overnight at Jispa in a deluxe camp/lodge.

DAY 11: JISPA TO MANALI (6-7 hrs)

Today we ride through Lahoul valley along the Chandra river to Keylong- the district headquarters and cross the Rohtang Pass (3,970 m) to reach Manali. Overnight at Manali /Solang valley.

DAY 12: MANALI /SOLANG TO DELHI

Depart from Manali/Solang early morning to reach Delhi by late evening. Trip ends here.
