2

DAY 02: LEH :

Yet another mandatory acclimitisation. Local sightseeing can be arranged.
3

DAY 03:

Final acclimitisation day in Leh and mandatory Health Checkup to certify you fit for the trek. Sightseeing can be arranged today as well
4

DAY 04: TRANSFER FROM LEH TO CHILLING AND TREK TO SHINGRA (3,180 m / 10, 434 ft, 4‐5 hrs)

After the breakfast drive about two and half hours until Guru Dho. We begin our trek from the b ridge point beyond Guru Dho on the ice of frozen Zanskar river. We stop for hot lunch at Takmar Yogma with a beautiful view from the junction where Zanskar river meets with the Zara Chu. Post lunch we continue walking to our camp in Shingra and set the camp for overnight stay.
5

DAY 05: SHINGRA TO TIP YOGMA ( 3,368 m/11,115 ft, 5 hrs)

After breakfast we continue to walk on ice of the frozen Zanskar River towards our second camp at Tip Yogma. The Zanskar Valley is the most isolated of the Trans ‐Himalaya valleys and that true sense of remoteness will become all the more evident as we approach our camp. After walking for 3 hours, we stop for hot lunch for an hour. This day there is more of zigzag crossing as the valley get narrower. Arrive at Tip Yogma and set the camp for overnight stay.
6

DAY 06: TIP YOGMA TO NYRAKPULLO (3,300 m /10,890 ft, 5‐6 hrs)

Today the view doesn’t change a whole lot. We encounter some spots of hot springs and the waterfalls in the Zanskar, because of which the ice become less strong and frequently needs to be checked by the guide. If the ice is broken enroute, then we may have to climb a small peak to avoid river crossing. This day we walk almost 5‐ 6 hours, Nyrek village is situated just above the cave where we plan to set up the camp. There is a small cave which can accommodate very few people. Arrive Nryakpullo and set the camp for overnight stay.
7

DAY 07: NYRAKPULLO TO TSOMO BAO (3,340 m/11,022 ft, 6‐7 hrs)

Start the day as we trek up to Tsomo paldar. There are lots of turns and crossings and we have to be lucky with the weather because we might find lots of hot spring which break the ice, and makes walking difficult. Arrive and set the camp for an overnight stay.
8

DAY 08: TSOMO BAO TO SHINGRA ( 3,350 m, 6 hrs and 2 hrs drive to Leh)

The last day of our trek is a 6-hour walk to Shingra from where we will be picked up by our jeep and drive to Leh.
9

DAY 09: DEPARTURE FROM LEH

Final departure for Leh.

Trip Ends.

Chadar trek is a must do for anyone who loves Nature..the experience of walking on the frozen lake and the hauntingly beautiful surroundings will leave you breathless! Of course the cold is a challenge ,but nothing which can not be overcome by the right gear!! Add this to your bucket list now ..

The Chadar trek was a bucket list trek for a friend and impulsively I tagged along. The thought of the extreme conditions worried me a bit. But with the combination of good gear, and a great GetupandGo team, there was nothing to worry about! The team was superb and they made sure that we were safe and well taken care of. The sleeping bags and tents were excellent, and we were always warm. The company owner Arjan accompanied us, and with his team ensured that we had a once-in-a-lifetime experience. A beautiful, meditative trek!
