Here is a trekking route that is steeped in legend and offers great views of the Deo Tibba and Pin Parvati range of mountains. Legend has it that years ago Jamlu (the presiding deity of Malana) was carrying a basket of all the Gods of Kullu. On the top of the pass when he opened the basket, the Gods blew all over the Kullu valley. Since then the valley is known as the Valley of Gods. Malana village is a culture in itself where the old ways are still adhered. This trek provides a great insight to some of the traditions of this valley as well as some stunning views.

DAY 1: ARRIVAL MANALI (2,050 m/6,725 ft). DRIVE TO SOLANG (2,560 m/8,398 ft - 13 kms)

Arrive in Manali. Meet our representative and transfer to Hotel Iceland, Solang Valley. After lunch a small acclamitisation walk (2-3 hours). Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 2: SOLANG TO NAGGAR. TREK TO RUMSU (2,600m/8,530 ft -3 hrs)

Drive from Manali to Naggar (30 km). Delightfully situated on a wooded slope and commanding an extensive view of the valley, it is famous for its temples, ancient castle, and the Roerich Art Gallery. And start the trek from here. A gentle climb through apple orchards brings us to the lovely village of Rumsu. Overnight in the camp.

DAY 3: RUMSU TO NAUYA TAPRU

Today easy climb through forest of conifer to alpine meadows which offers a magnificent view Pir Panjal range and peaks rising above 6000 mtrs. Overnight camp.

DAY 4: NAUYA TAPRU TO CHANDRAKHANI PASS (3,660 m/12,000 ft) TO MALANA (2,650m/8,700 ft - 7 hrs).

After breakfast, start trekking uphill for an hour to reach Chandrakhani Pass. A lovely trail leads to the pass and offers splendid view of Dhauladhar range, Parvati valley and Malana valley. From the pass, you can see impressive views of Ghalpo Peaks of Lahaul-Dharamsura (6,446 m) and Papsura (6,451 m) and the other high peaks in the upper Tosh valley. After a relaxing break at Chandrakhani Pass, start trekking downhill. This descent is rather steep. Evening visit Malana village and explore the local life. Overnight in the camp.

DAY 5: MALANA TO RASHOL PASS (3,250 m/10,662 ft) TO RASHOL (2,590 m/ 8,500 ft - 5 hrs)

Descend to Malana river, where we cross by bridge and climb steadily to Rashol pass and enter in Parvati valley. Easy descent until the village of Rashol. Overnight at the camp.

DAY 6: RASHOL TO KASOL (1,585m/ 5,200 ft - 3-4 hours). DRIVE TO SOLANG

A very nice and gradual walk through deodar forests crossing the Parvati river brings us to Kasol. The transport will be ready to pick you up from there to drive to Solang. Overnight at Solang.

DAY 7: SOLANG

Day of rest and leisure at Solang. Various adventurous activities which include paragliding, parachuting, horse riding, skating/skiing, zorbing and many more are available here. Overnight at Solang.

DAY 8: SOLANG TO MANALI

After breakfast drive to Manali for your journey onwards.
